It's hard to express the newfound gratitude you find for life drawing once you're out of art school. I've done my fair share of "art-stalking" commuters on the train and creepily sketching people in coffee shops. I've developed all kinds of ridiculous strategies for drawing people who don't know they're being drawn. That being said, it is soooo nice to have someone just stand STILL for you. And not be self conscious or freaked out about being observed or drawn. I'll be doing a whole bunch of life drawing this summer and I'm very happy to be back. Art school mode is a lovely mode.
I have been having so much fun with this character. She's really amusing to animate because she's so emotional and fiery. Unfortunately, I can only keep referring to her as Taekwondo Girl for now, (TKD Girl for short), because I still haven't thought of a name for her that I like... but check out my pencil test of her plucky little walk cycle! She's ready to kick some ass! haha :-)
Hey everyone - I hope you all have been having a fabulous summer so far! My summer has been super busy, in the best way possible (I love being busy in general). There have been many more animation projects in the works - and so with all the storyboarding that I've been doing, I figured it was about time I dedicate a section of the site to my storyboard work. More board updates will come through the summer, but for now, please enjoy the brand new section! Tell me what you think of it!
