You know what's sad? How badly I feel like sculpting. But I can't. Because I have to wrap presents. Wrapping is like sculpting....... right? ...RIGHT?!?!?!

Hmm... I have noticed by now that I only seem to post once a month....
New Year's Resolution for 2011: Post more on my blog.
(or at least that's one of my New Year's Resolutions. Last year's was..... start a blog. crap.)

Anyways I think honestly the only thing that makes me reluctant to write is the fact that I know I will go on and on and on about what I'm writing about. I nearly posted right after I had seen a Brad Mehldau concert at Carnegie Hall last month. I was bursting with so much excitement and creative insanity that I literally could not wait until I got home to open my laptop. I blazed through about 8 pages in my sketch book just writing my reaction. So in a way, you should really be thanking me. Do you really want to read 8 pages of an artist geeking out about why music is beautiful? And how I feel it affects the process of art-making in general? It was all I could talk about the next day - (insert my public apology to those coworkers who could not escape me here). But you, my fortunate reader, are much more....fortunate.

Anyways, it was a really, really good concert. I already bought tickets to go back. Impulsive? Absolutely. But I will be very very happy again one day in March. I also plan on doing what I had wished I had done after the first concert - I'm going to have a canvas ready to go in my studio before I leave so that when I get back from the concert, I won't write another 8 pages. This time, I will commit my reaction to paint. I really can't wait to try it.

Other cool things that have happened.
I got a driver's license.
I saw the Animation Show of Shows and had my faith restored in the state of animation in the world right now.
I went an entire day without drinking a chai tea.
I hung out one night with some friends in the cabin of an 150-year old ship down by South Street Seaport.
I took a picture sitting on Santa's lap this weekend.

I'm pretty pleased with the variety of my accomplishments. The spontaneity that has seemed to grace my life these days is giving me a sort of natural, innate happiness everyday. And that can only mean good things for my productivity. So I'm pretty excited.
